Friendly Exchange
For over 45 years, Friendly Exchange has created meaningful cultural exchange experiences that connect students, host families, and schools across the United States.
Our program is built on trust, cultural understanding, and lifelong connections, giving students the opportunity to grow academically, personally, and globally through authentic immersion experiences.
With thousands of participants throughout the years, Friendly Exchange continues to inspire new generations by creating experiences that leave a lasting impact on families, communities, and students around the world.
Our Participants
Friendly Exchange students:
Ages between:
11 and 17 years old
9 weeks
Are carefully interviewed, screened, and prepared prior to participation
Attend bilingual private schools in Guatemala
Demonstrate a strong command of the English language
Participate in school on an audit basis (no academic credit required)
Are placed in the same grade level completed in Guatemala
Are expected to participate fully, complete assignments, and follow school rules
