Students

Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 16, and are carefully interviewed, screened, and accepted, based on:

  • A true desire to participate and maturity according to their age.
  • They must be responsible students with the basic proficiency in the English language to integrate well in school and at home from the beginning.
  • Desire to participate in classes to the best of their abilities, do homework and maintain a good relationship with students and teachers.
  • Willingness to adapt to their Host Family customs, to be obedient and loyal, doing their best to become a member of the family who welcomes them in their home.
  • Responsible for daily schedule, home chores, and church attending.
  • Considering himself as an Ambassador from Guatemala, ready to give informal lectures and to share his culture. At the same time, learning and gaining cultural experience from the American way of life.
  • Make new friends and treasure wonderful learning experiences.
  • Comply with Friendly Exchange, family and school regulations.
  • Finances and Insurance: Parents cover all expenses involved and students do bring their own spending money.
  • The program provides a complete medical and accidental insurance for each student during their stay in the United States.
